An Ending, Complete

The sky was dismal, the day was dismissed. Auburn piles grew higher, upon the higher, and everything would be different soon. And all changes are forever. The store around the way was closing its doors and staying closed all winter. No point in selling when there's no one for buying. They threw out all the food. And the moonlighters became lucky; night job only. Twenty-something hour diners with stimulants, yes, but no liquor license, like everyone wanted. The open sign had a flicker, like a man with a screw loose, he's close to dying.
